WIFV Programs
Women of Vision Awards, May 23
WIFV is delighted to be celebrating the work of Writer/Director/Actor Marielle Heller, Documentarian E. Samantha Cheng, and PBS Chief Programming Executive Sylvia Bugg at the Women of Vision Awards on May 23, 2024 at the National Museum of Women in the Arts. The evening will include a reception and a lively discussion among the honorees moderated by Ann Hornaday, Chief Film Critic for The Washington Post.
Each year, WIFV produces nearly 200 events, including educational panels, discussions, workshops, seminars, and screenings. These events allow members to network, share knowledge, and exchange ideas. Our programs range from technical to theoretical, and feature local and national industry leaders. Currently, most WIFV programs are being held online. Women in Film & Video (WIFV) provides educational and networking opportunities for screen-based media makers, celebrates women’s creative and technical achievements in media, and advocates for parity both in front of and behind the camera to ensure that all voices can be heard.
A 501(c)(3) non-profit community benefit organization founded in 1979, WIFV is the premier professional resource for people who want successful media careers in the DC-metro region. All genres, genders, and experience levels are welcome. Our resources, connections and advocacy support a vibrant, creative media community.
